file How to create an Interface in class diagrams?

7 years 2 months ago #527 by DiSc
Hello all,

I am starting to learn UML and I figured I could be using Modelio to do so. I would like to create a simple class diagram of a package that contains a few classes and an interface. Only, I do not quite understand how to create an interface.

Note that I am starting to learn UML, so please forgive any stupid questions.

I expect the interface symbol to be essentially like a normal class symbol, but with <<interface>> written on top of it. Instead the symbol for an interface under class model is a circle.

I went through the videos on the YouTube channel but did not get much further. And I did not find much in the documentation.

Can someone point me to the right direction?

Thank you,

DiSc

Hi DiSc,

In fact, it depends of the layout of your interface.
If you want to see <<interface>> written :
  • select your interface in your diagram,
  • got to the "Symbol" tab,
  • change the value of the "Representation mode" field to Structured,
  • and change the value of the "Stereotypes display mode" to Text

Thanks to this sequence you should see what you wanted.

Hoping it helps,

Regards,
