file Part Decomposition - 2+ lifelines for the same object on a sequence diagram

2 weeks 2 days ago #6030 by joaolnfernandes
Hi there.

I wish to represent, on the same SD, two or more lifelines below the same object, as the example from EA in the attached picture.

Is it possible to do that with Modelio? How?

I've tried creating a BindableInstance with Ports within, each of them using the BindableInstance as "base", then I've dragged the BindableInstance onto the sequence diagram as a lifeline, and afterwards, dragged the "Part Decomposition" within the Lifeline. Unfortunatelly, I didn't manage to increase the number of lifelines aggregating Ports below the Part Decomposition.

I will really appreciate if someone can show me what I'm doing wrong or whether it is possible or not to do such a thing.

Thanks!

Hi,

To try to clarrify things, a lifeline can only represent one object.
In your EA diagram you have 5 lifelines and each of them belong to one unique object.

Now if you have a part with two ports on it as depicted below.

You are only able under Modelio or EA to associated a lifeline to the part, another to one port and the last one to the second port.

Hoping it helps,

EBR
