file My 1st BPMN looks too complex

6 years 3 months ago - 5 years 8 months ago #1500 by sergav
I am new in BPMN and tried to create one diagram - a process to transfer funds from a card to a bank account on ATM. But once I fixed all errors, it gave me in the audit window, I got this originally simple process as too complex one to navigate through. The process in the text is still better to understend.

Can someone tell me is it normal or I made some mistakes diagraming???

Also, how do I transform it to Use Case ???

Hello,

you have made a few mistakes on the BPMN syntax.

  1. First You should not have multiple StartEvent in the same Pool. The audit would have had to indicate an errors
  2. Secondly, you should use the Event Based Gateway to manage an alternate between two events

Your diagram becomes a little simplest like that

But in this case every Pool should be started with a Start event. How do I indicate that a process in a pool begins once a message from another pool arrives?

Hi,

You can use a Message Start Event

right. that is possible. But I look at this as another complication. because this "Start" event doe snot bear any specific meaning. Instead I tend to use "Task" with conditional outputs.
