Models for designing cloud applications

As part of the EU FP7 MODAClouds, we have been experimenting with
modelling support for cloud applications with Modelio. In this tutorial you'll
discover the MODAClouds modelling approach for designing cloud applications in a
provider independent way, separating design into three levels:
  • CCIM (a service based model),
  • CPIM (a provider independent deployment model) and
  • CPSM (where deployment elements are connected to specific cloud providers.

MODAClouds is a research project started at September 2012 and funded by the
European Commission. It aims at providing methods,
a decision support system, an open source IDE and a runtime environment for
high-level design, deployment and management of cloud provider independent
applications. The open source IDE is an experimental extension of Modelio
available here .
