TOPIC: Java designer: Create a new constructor. Modelio crashes (oops)

Java designer: Create a new constructor. Modelio crashes (oops) 7 months, 4 weeks ago #1250

I am trying to create a new constructor for a class. I have added an operation, set it to be of type constructor, renamed it to be the name of the class and when I try to add an input parameter which is not a primitive (one of my classes for example) Modelio ctd's.

I get a MS VC++ runtime error: Assertion failed

I am obviously doing something wrong but I am d*mned if I can see what!

Hi,

I just tried to reproduce this simple model and Modelio did not crash.

If it can help to compare your model with mine, here is a screenshot:

I tried picking and auto-completion to type the parameter with the same result.

By the way, you can create a constructor directly on a class (no need to type an operation)

Hi rsksmiles,

I'm sorry but for now, I didn't succeeded in reproducing your crash.

As far as I understand, you're not doing anything wrong...

We could use some more information in order to help you, could you please indicate:
- which system you are running.
- which Modelio you are running.
- how you change the type of your input parameter (ctrl+space, drag & drop, picking, reversing code?).

I think there must be something corrupted in the model.

Since I have had this problem I can no longer add a class without modelio crashing.

I have tried creating constructors in a fresh project and it works fine.

I have a hp8910w with 4gb
I am running win 7 ultimate 64 bit
I have modelio version 2.2.1 build 2.2.1.20120040942
I am using the hibernate designer and java designer

I dragged an operation onto the class. It creates the operation called Operation()
In the element wizard:
I then renamed it to relate to the class name
I then set the type to Constructor
I added a parameter changed its name and tried to set the class for the type no completion started

I have tried to zip the project file to upload it but I have a crc error on the file so I think either the crash has corrupted the file or the file was corrupted before and the corruption has caused the problem.

I am just going to have to reverse the sources that I generated and rebuild the class diagram.

Hi rsksmiles,

If you have a crc error I guess that you have a problem with your hard disk. Could you try to check your hard disk (with a check disk or any utility tool) to see it you have corrupted sectors?

Thanks but it was the first thing I did after I had the crc error. No physical errors on the HDD.
